Does anyone have big, rock covering colonies of zoas or palys? Seems like every pic I see on the big web sites are pictures of 1-4 polyps of a very pretty/expensive zoanthid but never colonies. Heck you rarely see one that obscures the view of the frag plug. Let's see your colonies (20+ polyps). I know John has some, who else?
I've got some I will post photos of. They are just standard zoas and palys, but make a nice field together. I just fed my tank, so I'll post a photo when everything in the tank settles down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
HIya, I've just purchased a few and will try and get pictures. Running out of time to get into the photo contest. Need to sit in front of the tank tonight and try and get pictures of moving objects. Wheeee. Kim/Benton, AR
Shawn's chop shop! What else did you get to frag? Hyper Candies had any baby's yet? I thought I was going to lose my Sunny D's and Seductions but figured out they hate high flow! Moved them where some rocks partially block flow and they have recovered nicely.
I just took these with my iPhone. They are standard zoas, but I think they have a nice effect in larger numbers. And I'm trying to let these grow out:
Thanks Greg. This tank was just a learning experience for me. I am really excited about the new build, because I've got a little experience, and I can do some things differently. (Like more sandbed space!!) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The photo is pretty true to life, I believe. I think they pop a little more in the photo though. I either got them from Greg, or Reefs 2 Go. I have two different zoas that look similar, and got them from both those places. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Are those protopalys Whitney? Look great! Why is it the brighter colored a zoa/paly is the slower it grows?! LOL I've got a few frags that have grown to colony size, will try to post some pics tomorrow.
