I've got an older 40g tall tank with the plastic brace in the middle. It is broke. Will it be safe to hold water? It is 36in long.
I had a friend repair a 46 bow with a broken brace and it's holding. Not sure exactly how she did it but I think she glued a plastic strip across. Can you order a replacement piece?
I've seen where people fixed them on YouTube. I didn't know if I could take the rest of the plastic off and make it rimless.
I'd check before you do. I'm not sure but rimless tanks may be thicker glass or made differently to withhold the pressure.
