Bit the bullet

Well, I bit the bullet on two new pieces of equipment. The first bite was on Current USA's Loop LED set up. Lights are good for fish only with some reef crest corals. When my return pump goes, I will replace with a LOOP pump.

Not here yet, but on the way, is a skimmer I have been wanting for a long time. I had a Deltec on my last reef and loved the performance. Deltec SC 1455 should be here by week's end. Will review and post pics of the skimmate.

I haven't heard of the deltec ... but I also hadn't heard of lifereef before getting my setup. I'm interested to see the pics.

The Deltec is maybe 1//2 the diameter of the EuroReef. The foam being produced is thicker, contains more goo, and this thing is ridiculously quiet. Literally, there's been a noticable difference in noise level in my living room. The wife came in and said, "is it running?"

Best of all, no, zero, absolutely none, microbubbles. Likewise, the gate valve level control is perhaps the easiest control to get zoned in, EVER.

That's great to hear! I like my lifereef but it's the only one I've ever used so I can't compare ... and I need a new pump.
