Well my fiance bought me a biocube for christmas because she knew ive been wanting a fish tank for a while now, and were planning on moving so I wanted to wait on my big one till we moved. Now I get to play with this 16 gal biocube . My plan is to buy a couple juvenile clowns, and a young rose tip anemone and by the time they are ready to be moved having the 250-300gal set up havent decided which yet. In the meantime thank you to Kevin from paradise for helping her out I have it up and running, and ready to start the cycling process. Think I finally figured out how I wanna do my rockwork

Tested ammonia today, it seems to be dropping, I have to go get a new nitrate, and nitrite test kit tomorrow, I bought the seachem nitrate, and nitrite test and I dont think its working properly. Going to continue to test this week and may throw a couple snails in this next weekend to take care of some algae blooms. I have the lights programmed and usually turn them off before I leave for work and only let them run for a couple hrs, but was gone this weekend (so they didn't get turned off) which probably helped contribute to the bloom. I know every tank goes through a "ugly" fase after a cycle tho

I will try not to disappoint I'm already ready for my bigger tank . Thank you I had snowflakes in my 75 gal that I had almost got a pair of them then I seen the black ices and was like nope gotta have those instead. They be transfered over to my big tank when I get it and replaced with whatever juveniles my son picks

Ok question, I was cleaning the glass off the tank today. Just got back from a 4 day out of town work trip so of course it needed it. I apparently have aquired a bristle worm somehow which I'm not too concerned about. My question is I noticed a starfish that has legs that look like a bristle worm?? What kinda starfish is this it has a tiny body and long worm like legs next time I see it ima try to get a picture of it, but legs and all its maybe the size of a nickle

Brittle star. Good part of the clean up crew. They frequently show up in my filter socks on my big tank. Sometimes even in a powerhead when I take it apart to clean. Since I set up my new nano tank I've been transferring them to it when I find them. Must have 15 or more in there now.

Most of the time all you see of them is their legs sticking out of a hole when you feed. A few of mine in the little tank are more bold and I actually get to see the whole starfish briefly.

Well got into town from working out of state and noticed a algae spike, so changed up my light schedule thinking it was running too long (still trying to find the sweet spot with these leds on the bio cube). Needless to say today is water change so I was pulling everything out the filtration system and noticed One of my turbo snails had made it into chamber 1 somehow and passed. Went ahead took the opportunity while I had my heater out and pulled out the false bottom. All these people saying they just stuck their hand down there must have really tiny hands because mine was not fitting. Ended up getting on of my big kitchen knife, and a long wooden spoon to get it snapped out of place. So if your looking to pull the false bottom out of a bio cube 16 and have bigger hands this is how I’d recommend it lol I almost got my hand stuck a couple times trying to stick it down there

Alright moving this weekend first time moving a tank, but at least it’s a nano and I’m only moving about 15 minutes away so should go smoothly just going to drain as much water out as possible so it’ll be easier to transport

Someday when I finally move, it won't be far, and I dread moving mine. And they're small too! Hope everything goes smoothly for you.

My tangs are well travelled individual and so are my clowns and they do just fine in a 5 gallon bucket with an airstone and they are just fine for cross country trips. Corals also have been decent to move like usual the sps gets mad but they come around.

Just did pretty much a 5 gal water change that way the tank was manageable all in all pretty simple considering I had to juggle a tank and dogs all in the same run lol
