I got a Fromia sp. starfish a couple of weeks ago. The first 10 days he probably didn't move 10" combined, just kind of hung out behind the same rock. The last few days he's all over the place. Started at one end of the tank this morning, up and down a couple of rock islands and is on the front glass as the lights are dimming.

I'm assuming this is a good thing? Do you try to spot feed these guys?

I've got a linkia starfish I've had for a few months now.. they hide quite often... he actually moved the first couple of days but after about a month I went at least two weeks without seeing him... I was beginning to get worried.. well he showed back up.. it takes them longer to get acclimated.. its probly a good thing...

That's awesome looking. Are they reef safe?

Yes, they're reef/invert safe. I think mine is indica but it's really purple on the tips of the arms not red as described by most sources.

I'm going to have to research those. I bet my nieces would love for me to get one. :)
