What is this on my zoa?

so this is my meeting coral. I noticed this little area before placing but assumed it was dying tissue or something.. now it seems to be adhering to the rock and maybe spreading. Is this a fungus? Part of the coral healing and spreading? It's the whitish part that is sort of webbing the heads together.

The whitish part is a sponge. That brown film on the body looks like it may be fungus

So the sponge is sort of filmy looking? Or fleshy like the zoa.. Like the other day I squirted it with water and it seemed like flesh coming off the zoa and today it's back and closed up looking. I don't see a brown film. I'll look again tomorrow and see if I can't get a better pic.

  4. I'm having a similar issue with mine. It looks like it is rotting away my zoas.

Maybe it is a Fungus. I have never seen a white one but it doesn't mean it doesn't exist

furan 2 is what I typically use when wild zoas do this, mix with a FW dip and rinse well

I did some googling too and it seems it may be some sort of fungus. Someone suggested a hydrogen peroxide dip so I tried that first since I've had luck with those dips with my other zoas.. if it's still bad tomorrow I'll try the Furan. I think I have some on hand.

I know you did and I tried to pay attention but I just can't remember the schedule you said to dip with. One pouch to a container of water for how long and how often?

Should I dip other zoas too to prevent spread?

That is the brown film that I was talking about. I'll try to write up the Furan 2 schedule tonight

Yeah I see it more in that pic. It seems the peroxide did something. The ones that were so covered have sort of melted away but the others that are left look much healthier.
