    Curious,

Has anyone ever tried to breed their own copepod population? I am just now starting for my red mandarin dragonette (Valyria is her name ;)). Seems pretty dang straight-forward and just following YouTube DYI vids. If it works out, then I will be starting on making my own Phyto next.

Following! I am interested to see what you do. I did an internship that I used to raise artemia and other species of pods

I’m using a 10 gal tank right now about 2/3 or full. So just trying out this experiment that will hopefully save me some $$$. lol

Sounds good Jarrett. Mandarins have such small stomachs they can't usually subsist on frozen foods even if they eat them. They are made to hunt all day. You're giving me hope I may be able to have one some day.

What do you think of this product to put in your culture tank when your want to export some? https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/pod-chest-barr-aquatic-systems.html

You’ll be surprised mine still eats pods when I started my new tank I put 4 bottles of pods in and then put a bottle or two every few weeks and mine is still hunting if you come to the next meeting I’ll show you my setup mine is like 6 months and still going strong

Yea, I can get her to eat PE Calanus but I have to turn off all pumps so it settles and she can pick it off the sand and rocks. Once she starts hunting again on the glass, I turn back on the flow. lol

hmm I'll have to pick some up...mine did not give frozen brine shrimp the time of day, which I heard it was easiest to train them on frozen.

Here's my little setup so far. I added the AlgaeBarn 5280 bugs and clean Chaeto in yesterday afternoon. I don't know if i need sand due to all the marinepure (and 2 pod hotels) in there from my reef tank to get it cycled fast.

Do you guys know where I can get rigid airline tubing (aquarium pump size) other than online? I am ready to start making my own phytoplankton for my pods but am missing that one thing. Do not see them at Petco or Petsmart. @huntindoc @Adam Mulling @portereef
    Thanks!
