Well, finally time to start the thread. Today my brother (the general contractor) is coming over and we are starting the wall for the 90 gallon to go in. Have lumber and sheetrock in the garage. I decided to start a build thread and go through the whole process or building the wall, putting in the tank, setting up the tank and the tanks progression. I'll start posting pictures as soon as I have some. Until then this is a picture I swiped off the net to give you an idea of what we are doing. To whom ever this picture belongs, if you don't want me using it just let me know. This will be inbetween our living room and kitchen.

Thats going to be cool, I like being able to see the tank from the front and back. You will get to see the stuff most of us miss.

Here is what we got done today in about 4 hours. You can see my half finished paintjob on the kitchen walls in the background and the lean to my light fixture on the 46 cause I broke one leg, lol.

It's got a ways to go. Thank God my brother is a contractor! It's gonna be mudded, textured and painted to match the other wall. Then we are gonna put cabinet doors on bottom along with one large door on top that will open up towards the ceiling. Then we are framing the tank with stained trim to match the cabinet doors and the "seat" on the end will be capped with stained wood and trimmed out. I think it's gonna look awesome. It's only a 90 gallon tank but that fits the size of our living room perfectly.

I thought it was a really neat idea too. It will be a few weeks till we finish probably. My bro lives about 30 miles away and works a lot like me :) We shall now see how good my sheet rock finishing skills are. I'm fixin to hang the rock on the top and go pick up mud and start mudding.
