Love it! Those green BTA's are really nicely colored. Usually the green ones are kind of blah.

  2. I think I'm gonna have to do a small harem some day! Absolutely love it!!!! Are any clowns hosting nems?

Are they tank raised clowns? Mine are and they used the overflow for a host (ignoring a large frogspawn) until my duncan got big enough for both of them to wriggle on.

Yes they are tank raised. I believe they are from Sustainable Aquatics

I haven't updated this in a while. here are some cell phone pictures from tonight. I wish I could capture the true colors of these Bubble Tips. Everyday they get closer and closer to a Sunburst Anemone. Not there yet but not the typical BTA colors.

We are going to tear Ty's tank down pretty soon and I have been debating whether to set it up as an Anemone Propagation tank or not.

My return pump burned out. That causes a delimma. Several months ago I bought a strong return pump for my other frag tank. I haven't set it up yet so this pump is still sitting in the box. It is way too powerful for this tank though. One option is to buy a new pump for that tank. Another option is to do some moving of equipment. I could put that new pump in the 125 and remove the Sicce Syncra Silent 5.0. The Sicce would then go in the 55. The pump in the 55 would then go in the Anemone tank. I'm not sure what route I am going to take.

That Sicce 5.0 would be a lot for a 55! Before I got the Vectra that's what I ran on my 155 (>1300 gph). Heck,I was running my manifold for my GFO and GAC reactors with it as well.

I've got a 3.0 on my 90 you can have when I break it down

Would it be too much for the Clown Harem tank? The other return pump (the one still in the box) is even more powerful than the Sicce. The Sicce is rated at 1321 gph. The other pump is rated at 1876.

It wouldn't hurt anything as long as your drains can handle it. With you standing there it shouldn't be a big deal. If it runs your sump dry.....there you go. :)

you could always plumb a valve and throttle the pumps output to match your overflow.

I'm not a fan of reducing my "up" water with a ball or gate valve.

What size drain/bulk head on the harem tank? Is it and open standpipe?

I'm running 1" drains and the full siphon handles the 1300+ gph with ease. I have to throttle it back with the gate valve to get the trickle I want though the open stand pipe. If you have an open standpipe, I don't know. If it does it might or might not be noisy.

It is a HOB overflow. I'm sure it could handle the amount, I just wasn't sure how much it may effect the BTAs. No one likes roaming anemones

No. I probably need to do a water change in there so maybe I will get some pics this weekend.
