OK just thought I would post my levels after 4 days bc I was bored
    Ammonia- 80 ppm
    PH- 8.0
    Nitrite- 5.0 ppm
    Nitrate- 40 ppm
    Temp- 77
    Sal- 1.022/ 30

Note: Only day 4 of cycle with no lights on 6lbs of live rock and 28lbs of base rock
3 small raw shrimp plz feel free to leave any feed back even though I know it's only day 4 lol!

    Ammonia 80 or 8.0?!

I would remove all of the shrimp. Ammonia levels that high can actually slow down the cycle. With nitrite and substantial nitrate already present you are well on the way!

    Keep us updated.

That's what I was thinking. That's still pretty high. I think the highest mine got during cycling was 4.0. Is that using API or some other test kit?

I am using a Api test kit

I actually like their ammonia kit. I know some people complain that they never get a zero no matter what but it always turns yellow for me.

well I took all the shrimp out that I could find now but my my temp fluctuates quite a bit what range does ot need to stay between bc mine avgs from 77-81 daily with no heater

Man, that ammonia is probably even higher than 8. The nitrate and nitrite are hard to read for me (one reason I like the titration tests better) but I would call them a step lower. Course that doesn't change their meaning.

yea it is very high but I have all the shrimp out now so hopefully it will come on down I will run another test on the 20th to give it a few days!
