Best Way to Retrieve a fish from an overflow

My little lady is just not cooperating. She loves to swim from bottom to top of the box. Net or hand and she zooms back to the bottom. Getting frustrated. I know she can live in there for awhile as long as she's fed. Nonetheless, she needs to rejoin her old man.

 

Pull the plug and let her fly to the sump lol

 

Discovered a talent in my 19 year old step son. He's the fish whisperer. Got the pair back together.
