This is tough. The folks who sold me the tank, equipment and livestock have been wonderful people. Unfortunately, their need to get things broken down led them to pull the carpet into a much smaller tank while holding it for me. Last night I got the call that they had no salt and had a spike. I retrieved the anemone and have placed him in a 20g with a nice led light and a low flow hob filter. She noticed that the nem was open mouthed and beginning to expel last night. Got him home, the condition seems to have worsened. I have pics on my phone, but I fear it's too late to do anything. Any ideas?
This is my fear of anemones.. lol I just bought an established tank too and am trying to rehome 2 anemones! I hope he's not too far gone!
the best thing to do is get him into a stable place and keep him there and be patient. It takes a while for a nem to come back after they are pretty angry. It may take a while for him to put his foot down again. My crispa took nearly a month to put his foot down. A move is pretty stressful on everyone (you included) so once you get your tank set up keep the parms as stable as possible, even if they aren't "perfect". Watch ammonia etc. Actually my nem has been one of the easiest things in my tank to keep, besides hair alage.
Lol on the hair algae! Lol!! I was having a major phosphate problem in my bc29 before I started using RODI water (yeah, I know.. ) and haven't been able to get rid of it despite trying to pull out as much as I can and trimming the rest down to the rock so the critters can handle the rest.
