How to get clowns to host anemone?

I recently purchased a beautiful bubble tip anemone that I was hoping my two mocha clowns would host. However, they seem perfectly content hanging out with my discharge nozzle and have paid no interest to the BTA. I decided to put them all in a little critter carrier inside my tank for a day or two in hopes that they will fall in love! I was wondering if yall had any tips in case this doesn't work? Also, some my BTA's tentacles are full of these little whitish/yellow balls, have yall seen anything like this?

I tried to get my black ice clowns to use a nem for 8 years. I tried bubble tips and even a carpet. I lost my clowns last year. This year, I ended up getting some ORA lightening x gold clowns and after 1.5 months they started staying in the bubble tip. But I didn't do anything to make it happen. I like your idea to use the container. Seems like a good plan.

Man there are a thousand different ways people will tell you. I have used taping a picture of clowns in a nem on the side of the tank so they see similar animals doing something they should. My clowns love my hammer corals or my goni. But the little tank is good method. I've seen people use clear tubes and slide the clowns to the nem because it was the only way out so they had to touch it and know it could be their home.

I also just left them alone and my parents 2 gold stripe maroon clowns figured it out no problem in a 32 biocube. With that also being said maybe force them while they are in the small tank to touch the nem and get them to understand its their home. Also let that nem out and find its home. Because you can try to put it in one spot and 30 minutes later it moves

Like Aaron said there are a lot of different things people have tried. One problem is bubble tip anemones aren't natural hosts for clownfish. While it's a really cool, fun to watch symbiotic relationship it's not necessary for the health of either the BTA or the clownfish. If it happens great! If it doesn't, don't sweat it both the fish and nem will be fine.

  6. For me clowns end up hosting anything they feel like...

If they host something alive I'm happy, it stinks when they want to hang out by a powerhead 24/7...

Thanks for the tips guys! The love jail didn't end up working, seems the clowns are just infatuated with the nozzle lol. Like yall suggested I'll probably just let them do their thing for now, but I'm considering putting a mirror/using a picture of clowns to encourage them. I'm also thinking about getting a dottyback, so maybe having a more aggressive fish in the tank will get them to host!
