It is time to start planning our first meeting meeting of 2017. It will be held on January 21 but the location is still up in the air. Does anyone want to host? John
I can host the meeting. I live just 3 miles east of Cabot. I have a 75 gal with 30 gal sump inset in my living room wall. I owe much of my success to the club early on when I was getting started, but I have been unable to get to the meetings on the regular basis. I have some large coral to share, so I will supply the coral to frag out at the meeting as well. Rick
What will be on the menu so we can start figuring out who is bringing what? Also, do you have a topic in mind to discuss? John
My wife will be cooking up a big batch of goulash(with beef or turkey meat). As far as the topic, I am not sure. Things I would be interested in learning more about might be refuigums. I would like to restructure my sump setup and would love here about others experiences with theirs. Not directly reef related, discussing experiences with breeding clown fish. My 7 year old pair of ocellaris clownfish just laid eggs and I am not prepared to raise the fry. Rick
I kinda think it should be up to the RRMAS staff to come up with a discussion topic. Those that are hosting have a lot to do to prepare for the meeting. We could rotate discussion topics among the board/officers and we would only be responsible twice a year at most. Just a thought. Some topics to consider.....1) Testing, what kits are you using and why? 2)Nutrient control.... This could be broken up in to NO3 and PO4 and then in to the different methods...ATS, skimmer, carbon dosing, refugia. 3) Talks on different species/genus of fish....we have people that like certain types. 4)Cycling a new tank....what's the best way? 5) Dosing nuts and bolts....how do you get it right? 6) What are the optimal parameters..NO3, PO4, Calcium, Alkalinity, Magnesium, trace elements. I'm sure we could come up with some more.
I just realized that my wife Amanda Clements knows your wife LOL. I watched the video of your clowns on facebook last night. Very nice tank!
thanks for hosting Rick! Can you add your address to this thread? I will update the meeting banner on the home page.
Hiya, Thanks for stepping up Rick! Can't wait to see another 75 gallon. We see a lot of large tanks in the group, not that I'm complaining, but for those of us who can't afford large tanks it's nice to see what can be done with a smaller one. Kim/Benton, AR

Risk I have a food allergy to mushrooms. There is no need to adjust the menu for me, I just need to know if there are mushrooms in it. I'll find out one way or another lol
