Anyone on here have any blue star polyps? I know the greens can be like crabgrass, but the blues are actually really pretty and apparently nowhere near as prolific. Looking for a decent size frag. Likewise, in about a month, I am going to be looking for some monti cap frags. Who's got some pretties?

Blue star polyps? I've never seen them. Any pictures? Sounds interesting.

I have really have thought about clove polyps, they are really cool looking but just to invasive for me.

There you go! Sorry for the confusion, just hadn't heard them called that before. If you can't get with John, the display tank at Pet Country in Conway is loaded with them and them might frag some out for you.

The Conway store is where I first saw them! They must have fragged it recently as they were down to a couple of patches in their tank.

I don't have any on particular frags, but I have a live rock with some on it which would be easy to get out of the tank. If you didn't want the whole rock, I'm sure I could chisel off a chunk of it.

Goldmine in here. Love the cap. Will be talking to you in the next month or so for some of that @SilentReefer . Since others are interested in the blue star polyps @whippetguy , would love to know how much for a frag or maybe we could get a group to buy the rock and frag it. ;-)

I am not trying to mess up a sell but please folks research before you put blue clove polyps into your tank. As far as a pest coral goes these are my #1, in a tank with SPS these can ruin your tank, these are not things I've read but experienced. The cure is no longer made either. They are great for soft coral tanks and some LPS but they will surround and "nuke" your SPS colonies if given the chance. If admins feel this needs to be deleted I understand I just hate to see anyone go through what I and many others have.

I always warn people when they get it. That it may spread everywhere, but I've never had it overtake and kill coral, but it will grow right next to it. I've had it for several years in a mixed tanks with lps, sps and softies. I have 2 small to medium sized rocks with a little patch of it on both. $10 each

more than overtake a coral it surrounds it and dies of all at once releasing a toxin that causes RTN in SPS and something close to brown jelly on the 2 LPS I lost, both chalices. Most LPS with sweepers keep it at a distance.

  16. Definitely best on an island, like green star polyps.

If @whippetguy runs out of frags, I have some too.

A new pet store for me to visit!

And are these blue sympodium? Seems like I read that that variety is slower growing than a similar one. I've looked at a lot recently though and may be getting confused.

  19. Slow.....fast......invasive none the less. Beautiful coral though. Best when isolated IMO. The only reason my tank isn't overrun with it is because my file fish are all mine.

I'm pretty sure the name is snowflake blue clavularia which is different from sympodium.
