Hi all.. been lurking for bout a month, thought it was time to introduce myself and my tank.. I started off with a 2 gallon Spec that I got for Crimbo. Nice little tank and I did all the recommended mods and well.. I had too much rock wasnt happy with the pile, So I re-scaped: And then got Skar as part of my CuC, and he just looked so cramped in there: I got myself some GSP and some Blue Xenia (freebee with hubby's Xenia buy), starting to come together: Then I found it.. it was a steal.. I had to buy it.. would have been a waste NOT to do something with it. =D so I moved everybody over to the new digs, a blank Chi: Then got few spare dead rock and took 1 small LR piece and fitted a pillar for back corner: I added a Green Hairy Mushroom and a FANTASIC Yuma (who is not happy with me atm, so I have cut my flow to half till he finds his footing. Not sure what else I can do with him to cheer him up.) I had him in the holding tank in a Tupperware with loose lr chips hoping he would settle and I could glue chip to main rockwork, but he was withering over there so I said feck it and put him in a sheltered area of new tank and we shall see how he goes. I want to add more rics and funky shrooms to the main long rockwork and I would love to put a Flower Rock Nem on there as well if they would all behave. On the pillar might add another nem and I am debating on what else to put there. I will figure something out. Right now just want to let everyone settle into new digs and then I will see what to do next; my Scarlett hermit and Yuma are not happy with me. Anyone know how to cheer up a narked off Yuma? =P I really like where I am at right now with rockwork and contents. Thanks for looking and sorry bout the crummy camera shots. Going to get proper shots once water settles nicely. =)
Thanks for joining the forum! Tank looks good. If just leave the Yuma alone and see how it goes. Sent from John's Tapatalk
I have added a few more 'Shrooms and few RF Nems. One Nem you can't see as its white and is hiding against the back rock.. wish she would spread out like NemZilla is.. oh well.. she is new and still settling in. I have lost my Yuma tho. Ended up with that infection they get. All I have left atm is a sliver of its foot. Hoping that doesn't melt on me or start oozing like the rest of it did. =( Been looking around for some nice Blasto or Micromussa to start on my back pillar rock. Don't particularity want to pay arm n leg for just few heads and seems like all the LFS I am visiting that have em want ALL my appendages =P ...So the back pillar is on hold till I can find some reasonable priced & decent looking frags. =) But overall I think its slowly starting to come together. Going to give my new 'Shrooms and Nems some settling in time and I need to see if that piece of Yuma is going to make it or not. Thanks for looking =)
Hiya, Nice set up! Zoa's go really well with Mushrooms too. They can add all kinds of color to a tank. Kim/Benton, AR
I got a used Chi..cheap and missing top..so I put an ac20 and a finnex pc light on it. A few of the other Fluvals have proper glass tops, so I requested some lid clips and soon as I get those in I will be getting a glass lid cut to fit. They do make a lid for the Chi..but seeing as I am missing the top bits..just diy'ing it to work
Took tower out again.. got a lobo n trumpet/or candycane that I wanted to live in the sand down there. Will move the Candy/trumpet up once it settles in well. I also ordered a FragMag to put my Xenia on and stick it on the side of tank further up. My Green Hairy and a lovely purple shroom have exploded in size and dominate the rock i wanted to cover in shrooms.. lol.. that and my Nem keeps chasing my GH is a booger. I did loose my Yuma which is a bummer but my Florida rics are doing fabu. My shrooms stand up tall on the rockwork quite a bit. Is this normal? Its kinda like they are dancing at times. My hubby got a cool frag of Zoa, but broke off a piece for me and I made a cool Zoa tree out of it. =) So other than still being at a lose for finding a good Blasto or Micromuss frag.. all is going swimmingly.
