PODS?

  1. I'm thinking about adding pods to my tank. Has anyone ever bought pods and had success?

If you can find someone with a good population and can get them to give you some chaeto from their sump you can seed your tank. I've bought pods before but had better luck getting them from the macroalgae. Of course with so many wrasse pods don't last long in my DT. I just have a few in the sump.

  3. I've bought pods before, did they survive? Who knows! I have lots but I've bought Cheato before which usually is much better for diversity. In general, diversity is good. Buy some Cheato AND a bottle of pods. ;)

  4. Well I unfortunately didn't get any from the Cheato I got a few months back so I decided to give the population a head start. I added 16oz of Algagen Pods Apocyclops and 16oz of Algagen Pods Tisbe to my refugium last night. I will update in a month with my results. Hopefully they will flourish and help to diversify my reef. I know that some coral and almost all fish eat them and I haven't found anything negative about them yet.:) more to come....

  5. None from Cheato? None is hard to believe, it takes a long time to reach a population level where they're crawling all over your glass.

I too would buy a bottle to speed the process.

I see them crawling around my live rock every now and then and see them mostly at night when light is low.
