What is the best way to remove mushrooms from a rock without hurting them?

I don't know of any way to remove mushrooms from a rock with them being injured. I usually use a razor blade. Then I have the mushroom I cut off, and another grows back on what is left on the rock it was on.

That is how people propagate the corals. They cut them with a razor and rubberband or net them over a rock until they heal. You can also put them in a 1 1/4" piece of pvc pipe that has sand in the bottom of it in a low flow area. The mushroom will eventually stick itself to the sand or rock rubble. You then can move it anywhere you like.

Another way is Dremel the rock around the mushroom. Thats way too much work and ruins a good rock.

Ralph is right on, you can't hurt a mushroom. You can cut it off and slice it into itty bitty pieces like a pie and each piece well grow a new mushroom. Don't worry about hurting it, the bigger problem is how to control them. Course you can get a blow torch out. LOL!!!
