So, if that's true, my second venture into the reef aquarium hobby should be AWESOME. The sign said introduce myself, so here goes. My name is Kevin Robbins. I live just outside Austin, AR. I am a bi-vocational minister for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). I have two kids living at home, one with his mom, and another who's successfully launched, fingers crossed. My first tank was a 90 gallon mixed reef. Did a lot of things right: grew several species of monti under T-5's. Did some things wrong: tried to house a Gold Rim Tang in a 90 with a lot of live rock and another heavy herbivore. Got nuked by aiptasia. Broke down to move back home to Arkansas from Central Illinois. Looking forward to the stimulating conversation and wisdom of a local reef club. Thanks for being here.
Hiya and welcome! Hope you can make it to our next meeting...it's Saturday in Lonoke. Check the home page for the location and time. I never made the jump to LED's and am quite happy with my T-5's. I'm also seeing on FB that a lot of folks are bringing back T-5's into their systems. How big a system are you planning this time?
I am working on a 175 gallon Oceanic bowfront. My hope is to have the tank in the house late this month. It is an established tank that we are moving from another location about 10 miles away.
Welcome to RRMAS and back to Arkansas Kevin! I think you'll find there is no shortage of conversation about our tanks and their inhabitants at the meetings. Looking forward to meeting you!
Hey kevin, I'm in the process of cleaning and setting up a 180. Hopefully Ill get it going in the next week or so but I have two smaller tanks. Hope to see you at the next meeting
I intend to be there and officially join. Any kind folks willing to host my club corals until my tank is mature enough?
