Today I went to the local grocery store and got some shrimp for dinner and my tank to help along with the cycle! Well I know some of yall are already starting to fig out where this is going well my 5yr old likes to help me with everything I do and I usually let her b/c she loves helping well she ended up dumping about 10 shrimp in my nano cube before I stopped her bc I was not fully paying attn. to what she was doing! Unfort the no so funny part is she thought she was in trouble and cried and took off running to her room lol
Hiya, Ahhh, poor baby! Did you clean the rock up or are you going to let it cycle the tank? Kim/Benton, AR
Yep that might have been just a tad more ammonia source than needed! I'm lucky the grand kids haven't done anything worse than put they're cute little hand prints on the tank or swiped the Mag Float. LOL. My tank is high enough that they can't reach the top to put anything in. I read a thread somewhere where the child dumped a whole jar of pellet food in to a tank. That would be fun to deal with!
When my granddaughter was about 3 she dumped a bowl full of macaroni and cheese into my tank. I almost lost it! She is now almost 16 and we all still remind her of that.
When my son was 3 he decided to feed my fish for me. He poured a whole LARGE container of Formula One in my 55 gallon. I noticed it because I walked past that room and saw that my water was pink. I did an immediate 100% water change with tap water and only lost 1 fish. It just happened to be my $60 Flame Angel. John
When I set my 180 up the first time I had two 35 gallon trash cans with rock curing in it and my son james thought it would be a good idea to dump an entire bottle of bacon bits in them and I did not know it till a few days later when I had to find the source of the nasty smell it was not fun and had to start all over with the curing cycle
Well my tank is definitely ripe right now I got about 4 pieces out and there are 3 left its funny bc she woke me up this morning saying how bad my tank stunk lol
