I'll get you some pics! but they wont be that great. a 8 megapixel ipod camera and aquarium lighting do not work well together! ahaha
These are from my Ipod so that is the excuse for poor quality! The First one is the day I got my coral (five months ago) Second is just a random shot (not recent) Third and fourth where taken today
haha do it!!!! I want to get the innovative marine 8 gallon. Its the one that was raffled off at the June meeting. The Fish Tank is growing SPS in it with stock lighting!!!
Hiya, I don't have a nano yet, but I plan on getting one! Like how yours is going. Got that coraline algea growing. Kim/Benton, AR
well ya know kim that kevin has those innovative marine nanos up there just waiting on a good home!!!
Hiya, Very true. I drool over them every time I'm there. However, I'm in the process of planning my 120 gallon upgrade. So, the nano will probably be a project for next year. Kim/Benton, AR
I just had a birthday so that means I can spend some money on my tank. On Sunday I am probably going to order a par38 light to go on my tank. It has 12x3w leds. 36 watts sounds like a ton of leds but I can raise the led up to what ever height that I want. The manufacturer has been testing it on a 8 gallon tank that is 12 inches deep (same as my nano cube) and has had success. If I think it is to much light my youth pastor is going to trade me his leds which he has on his 8 gallon tank and has great success with. Either way its a win/win. The light I am going to buy has 6 royal blue (460nm) 2 blue(430nm) 2 10,000k whites and 2 14,000k whites. 90 degree optics.
It is on its way to my house. I am going to move my tank tomorrow to where I can have the light over it and its going to be on a stand instead of a dresser. I don't know if I mentioned the cost in my earlier post but its only 75 dollars. I also found a way to hang it from the ceilling for 2.50 so a lighting system for 77.50 is pretty good!!!!!
Before and After LED's. You probably know that the camera can't pick up the exact colors. Its more purple in person.
Got a nice birdsnest today and a really cool shroom of some sorts!!!!!!!!! Let SPS growing begin!!!!!!!!
I just do not like mushrooms they deattach from the rock they come on and float away. I love the birdsnest though.
Its a Par38 bulb off ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/PAR38-Aquar...t=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item3cc9c1605f
Well since I put LEDs on the tank I have started getting into SPS. Its going great!!!!!! I got the light about three weeks ago and that same weekend I got my first SPS (pink birdsnest) and have already seen growth! I also got two corals today at the meeting a small cluster of zoas that are pretty awesome and one other SPS I dont know the name of. Also I would think six watts per gallon of light on the tank would kill soft corals. Nope haven't lost a thing. I am so happy with the LEDs I got and so happy it only cost seventy five!!!!!
