A couple of weeks ago my Watanabei angel decided she didn't like wrasses at all. She started chasing my two most expensive fish (my lineatus wrasse and my diamond tail flasher wrasse). Both disappeared within a few hours of each other. I feared both were dead but after getting the angel out of the tank the lineatus re-appeared looking awful. Big pop-eye on one side and lots of missing scales and torn fins. I looked everywhere for the diamond tail including looking in the overflow.

Fastforward to today. I'm changing out my filter socks when who should appear in my sump but my diamond tail flasher! I wonder what the ride down to the sump was like? put him back in the DT and he appears none the worse for wear. Ate great tonight and doesn't look like he's lost any weight.

Lesson learned. Even if you can't see a small fish in the overflow pull the standpipe and flush it out just to make sure. BTW the screen cover comes within 1/2" of touching the top of the overflow. Little fellow had to try hard to make that jump. Thankfully the screen kept him from hardwood surfing.

LOL, I found a scissortail goby in the 3rd chamber of Jennifer's sump yesterday. I thought it went carpet surfing and eaten by one of the dogs a few weeks ago. It scared the crap out of me yesterday when he popped up next to my hand.

LOL. I was stunned. He had been MIA for at least 2 weeks and I had given up on him. I just stood there and looked at him in the sump for a minute thinking "how the heck did you do that?" I mean the gap between the screen and over flow looks smaller than he is. Hoodini, I guess.

Even better news was the lineatus was out front and center tonight. His eye is still swollen but looks a lot better. It's moving normally and he seems to be able to see out of it ok. #fingerscrossed

We all have lessons to learn when combining animals. Glad you were able to save all of them. So where did you put the angelfish?

I traded her in on the Potter's wrasse I got at The Fish Tank. She will be a fine addition for someone without fairy wrasses.
