What are the best ways to feed this? I just got it yesterday, and am so excited to see it opening up! Suggestions for keeping it happy?
Prolly a turkey Baister but I've heard you have to feed each individual head. So I'd make turn off you flow and give it a chance.
Vanessa had the awesome suggestion of cutting a liter coke bottle in half and covering the dendro with it, then squirting the turkey baster into the top of the bottle. That sounds easy enough, but because of where I put it to stay shady, it might be hard to do. Going to give it a shot though!
That's a great way to feed any coral if you have food stealing shrimp like I do. Otherwise I have to stand there with a long bulb syringe to run him off when I feed my rock flower nemes and plates.
I think you're right John! Growth form is wrong for dendro (and they are usually cost prohibative in a colony that size). Christina have the polyps opened up yet? Dendro's tend to be open during the day and Sun Coral (tubastrea) open only at night. Feeding is pretty much the same I think, just the timing would be different.
Yeah if that is a true Dendro then you scored the purchase of a lifetime. $60-80 per polyp is the normal purchase price.
