So I really like the aquaclear build for the hob filter but I am clueless when it comes to what all I need to go in the filter itself and also the lighting I like the par30 lights but I dont really know about lighting wattage or how to even build a mount for the lighting on the tank does anyone have a website or may there personal DIY lighting

oo I agree about the media basket, but atm I'm just stock on mine. If you want to mod you can, I didn't and all I run is a bag of chemi-pure with filter floss. One day I will splurge and get myself an InTank basket.

As for lighting..you can do a search for par30 diy builds or fixtures. I used a cruddy pc till recently. Got a led system in for my new build tho..not completely happy with stand I built, but I can work on it.

This light has been used on many nano tanks with par38 & 30.

    I have a par38 that is dimmable i'll sell you for $40.
If your wanting something that goes on the tank your going to have to get creative. Look at my 2g, it's not the greatest but something like that would probably be plenty of light.

so just the bulb itself or do you have a light that is rigged up for it as well ? And how is it dimmable ?

No this is just the bulb. Par38's aren't cheap. It has a remote and the blues and whites are on separate channels so can hike up the blues with less white or whatever you want. These are the 1 watt LEDs not the 3w. In a three gallon 12x1w is plenty.

You might could use a ecopico arm light, ecoxotic makes them.
