  1. After listening to members at the last several meetings it is clear that there is a desire for expanded webcontent on the Razorback Reef fourms.  While Razorback Reef has been very successful in recognition nationally for our website it is time to start thinking about improving the site to allow for the desired educational content that members are wanting. The current structured forum based on phpbb is very difficult to integrate as support for this free forum software has gound to a slow trickle.

The current plan before you is to move our physical server (currently in Arkadelphia) with IOCC (former member Joe Phelps) to a cloud based host that will be supplying automatic back up of the site.  Currently we have had to add hard drives on two seperate occasions due to the growing website. We would also install vBullitin the most currently rich forum software on the market. This is a liscened software that comes with support, integrated calendars, blogs and chats - all of the items that were discussed at the last meeting by meembers as wants. We would then migrate the structure, substructure, posts and attachments to vBullitin.  There are several programs out there that can do this successfully. We will then address the integration of aMember into vBullitin which may be done locally by Calvin or can be contracted to the aMember development team. At the end of the day Razorback Reef would have a fully supported updatable software infrastructure that can be expanded to include educational content while being manged by administrators much more easily.

To address the need for faq on how to perform tasks like uploading pictures I will be purchasing Camtasia for Mac or Camtasia for Windows plus Parralles so that I can run the software on my Mac and still have the option of allowing other members to be able to use the software on the more standard pc.  This is assuming that the perpriatary costs are not exorbadant.  Camtasia is $100 as is Parralles $100.

The motion poll is for the allocation of $1000 to cover the cost of Server Host, vBullitin, infrastructure software for vBullitin, vbullitin theme, aMember upgrade, installation and integration and Camtasia.

After speaking with several of you about the amount of the funds being requested I have withdrawn my request for monies for the website in lue of coming up with a more comprehensive plan that does not tap into our funds so excessively. Thank you all for letting me know your concerns, things flow much better when we communicate about our ideas even if they go against a proposal such as this. I will let you know when I come up with another plan. Please discuss any ideas that you may have on the site so that we can incorporate them.
