I have some zoas that are spreading to a rock that I don't want them on. The rock is reserved for some nicer palys I just put on that rock. Whats the best way to keep them under control? I thought about taking a scalpel and just cutting/scraping them off the rock?
I don't think these have a name. They came on a frag with some Fire and Ice zoas. I think they actually morphed from them as there is another variation that just cropped up in the Fire and Ice. I'll get a pic tomorrow.
Sounds like your going to have to frag them. Once your tank develops you will have to tend to it like your yard , a clip here a zoa there. That's one reason I originally set up a frag tank. When you get to the point that you break something everyone u put your hand in your tank it's frag tank time. Sorry that was a bit of a ramble
I am having the same problem in fact that are killing others and completely taking over my tank I have clipped and scraped them. Nothing seems to be working!
You can use aptasiaX on the polyps one the outer edge of the side you want gone and see if they stop growing In that direction. I have also heard that once hit with a laser they will stop growing in the direction of the damaged polyps. But who knows. I've used aptasiaX when I had protopalys growing in the middle of a bunch of Zoas. Palytoxin, did you just make that up?
i use the apasia x to keep those nucular geen palys from going were i dont want but i have been know to take a rock out and boil it but dont do that in ur house or sand over it cause it can kill u with the toxins coming from the steam
