Alright everyone after going to the fish tank in little rock Arkansas and seeing there beautiful little nano tank I decided I had to have my own so I broke down and bought one along with the refugium and media basket but I had a few questions about it so I know for the fuge you need macro algae and light is there anything else I will need for that or will it sustain itself and also pertaining to the media basket what do you all suggest running in the 3 compartments because it came with 3 sponges and I have heard very mixed reviews thanks again for all of you guys help it is greatly appreciated image.jpg

we got rid of the sponges in my husbands IM4 and instead run a bag of chemi-pure elite and filter floss in it. If you run the fuge all you will need extra for it is the light and macro. Love these tanks altho hubbys has developed a small leak on bottom but the stand is keeping it at bay atm till will can fix it.

Nice, I love the nuvo's, I have filter floss, purigen and chemipure elite in mine. And as far as the fuge all you need is the light and your algae.

So I was looking At the purigen and I'm a little confused on what I actually need to run it in my aquarium

If you want to run purigen the easiest thing to do is get it already in the bag. Then just put it flat in one of the chambers.

Purigen and chemi-pure are only "polishers". They will make sure your water is crystal and remove any phosphates that your macro misses. If you are running a fuge I would suggest running it and in your media basket just run some filter floss... see how things work out. You can always add your choice of polisher later on if you feel that you need it. What I would do personally. This hobby all about getting as much info as you can and deciding which works best for you. At least that is what I am finding out =)

    Just want to add:

Deffo make sure to register your IM's. Ours developed a leak so we contacted them. They are going to replace our tank. These folk will go outta their way to make things right. Can't praise them enough!
