I don't know who Alyssa split the zoa's with but you should treat them. I am currently treating hers for zoa-pox. I did a coral dip that day and got all sorts of stuff out. She had one or two infected polyps that day. Yesterday she had about 10-15 infected. Other than that, these are the coolest zoa's in my opinion. I hope they recover without too much loss. John
They are closed right now. I just got done dipping them for treatment #2 of 3. I'll post one when they open back up. John
Time for the 3rd dip. I figured I'd take the picture now before I made them mad again. You can definitely tell it is zoapox.
If I were you I would take a pair of sharp scissors and nip those large pallys out of there too. I have seen them take over a zoa rock and basically push and shade out the zoas to where they are the dominant coral on the rock.
Yeah I'm planning on removing them but I want to wait until I'm done with the zoapox treatment. I finished the dip part and now I have to wait for about a week to see if it was successful.
You can also try taking the rock out and taking a razor blade and lightly rubbing the spots then dipping. Zoapoxs is largely due to stress from moving around in my experiences. Coral rx and pruning is my go to way
