Thanks Austin. By the way, I have a JBJ Actica Titanium 1/10 HP chiller on the way. Should be here Friday. Did you say you were using that same one? Its going in my Red Sea stand and I think I already have all of the air circulation and coil cooling needs just about figured out. Gonna set a mini fan up on one of those Lux Brand programable thermostat switches to kick on when the cabinet temp reaches a set limit. It may never turn on because the rectangular cut out in the back of the Red Sea cabinet is so large that the entire chiller exhaust should blow right out the back with little to no heat ending up back in the cabinet.  Any tips or tricks for chiller install? Would love to hear your opinions. These tanks sure are pretty, but man, they sure do create some heat. Even the pumps create a good amount,
Yes, Luke. I'm using the 1/10th chiller. It works nicely with the tank, and it's quiet. I have mine located next to the aquarium, but I think it would easily fit under the tank, and the fan may be needed to keep the cabinet cool. It sounds like you have it figured out. The install is easy. Just make sure there are no leaks. It's a heat machine!
Got the chiller installed and it keeps the tank at a perfect temp. Everything, including fish and coral seem to be much happier now. I assume it could have something to do with the increase in disolved oxygen at lower temps.  Just need to get the cabinet cooling fans installed and on a plug in thermostat and everything should be set.
Change of plans. Chiller produces too much heat for the cabinet circulation fans to keep up with. Moving the chiller outside of the stand tomorrow. Just need some longer tubing. Oh well, so much for a sleek, compact looking tank and stand unit. At least the inhabitants love the chiller. Nothing like AC in the summer.
Picked up a Blue Ultra Maxima and a Feather Duster today. Pics of them coming tomorrow when the lights are back on.
