    Take a look at http://www.autotopoff.com/

Has anyone used these products? The RO/DI solenoid looks very interesting. It could be hooked up directly to the RO/DI filter output tubing and would eliminate the need for a pump and reservoir.

Any idea how reliable these devices are?

Does the $150 include the float switch? Can it be used in-tank instead of in-sump?

I found this review of the AATOC:

Do you think these quality control issues have been resolved? If I'm investing $150 in something, it should work properly out-of-the-box without having to take it apart and fix it.

Well...Reef Central's search tool must be limited to paying members and a Google search of reefcentral.com didn't turn up any discussions about the AATOC. Suggestions?

  5. I have been using the autotopoff for about two years now - they are absolutely great. I have used several other more commercial float switches and made my own. The commercial switches all eventually failed for one reason or another and I could not make a float switch for what autotopoff makes his for when you consider the time and effort put into building one. He is very willing to custom make one to your specifications - at the time that I bought mine there was no charge for it. Be sure to get the snail guard it performs several functions besides keeping critters out - it keeps light from the float so that algae doesn't grow on on it. I but autotopoff up there with myreefcreations - guys that love the hobby and make a good product, not that interested in making a killing, it makes me feel like I am supporting the hobby when I invest in quality home grown products.
