Well im starting this build thread because I too have decided to start a nano tank. Im going to use a 20 high aquarium that i had laying in my bedroom floor. Today I ordered a JBJ viper 70 watt HQI, Hydor Koralia nano power head at 425 gph, and a heater. this aquarium will be filtered primarily with live rock and a tunze nano skimmer. this tank will house no fish. Corals and other inverts only. Corals that i already have that will go in will be a green acro, a purple milli and two christmas tree worm rocks. Other than the worms it will be acros only. I will post pics as I progress.

muahahaha spread the nano bug around. I really think Nano tanks can be easier than those bigger tanks. I have always been told "You cant keep a tank that small its going crash, You wont be able to keep it stable, blah blah blah."
Anyways have fun with your new nano build.

  4. One common thing you hear about nano tanks is things can go wrong quicker with nano tanks (smaller amount of water), while this is true, it is also true, that things can be fixed quicker too.

Dilution is often the solution to pollution - very easy and cost effective in nanos to do 15% weekly water changes or more if needed... even upto 80% in an emergency. In the smaller tanks it is also much cheaper to run the very best of chemical filtration & change it regularly at a cost one can afford - I run Chemi-Pure-Elite & Purigen.

Have fun with your nano - you can have great success with it for sure ! [IMG]
