Where does one find an accurate thermometer? I have three different thermometers and get three different readings over a 3 degree spread. I'd like to calibrate my temp probe on my new Reefkeeper 2 system but I don't know what the real temp is.
I would take the middle one and call it good. Curious how your halides are working out? You running them for a full 10-12 hours yet? Does you temp stay pretty steady? I will eventually get a bigger tank in a year or so and was already thinking about how I wanted to set it up. Just wondering if a chiller was in my future if I went with those 250's like you did. Right now I'm usually running them about six hours. I had them on for about 12 yesterday and the water temp was 84 according to the "high" thermometer. It'll go up about two degrees in 12 hours. I just got some fans to mount on the back of the canopy which will easily control the heat.
You would need a calibrated thermonetor, Ill look around my lab and see if there are any. It is what we used in the past to check the corect oven tempatures.
I have a few extra certified calibrated thermometers you could have/use one. If you wanted to meet sometime at NSA I could bring it to you. Here is a pic of one I have on the 55Gal
I only have two extras, so I can't provide the whole club with one. But I can get one to you. Just let me know where and when.
