While I had it in my possession I figured I would go ahead and try to fix it up a little. As some know, you cant just hold the eye in your hand as it will cast shadows that will make for wrong readings. I had this old peice laying around and adapted it to hold the eye so now you can move it around freely with your hand well away from the eyelit and come up with better readings.
It sucks actually.... I am getting good par in some area but others are way below where I need them to be. I am going up to 2x400 watt lamps and in the near future may even add a third.
I am talking to a manufacturer about some affordable LED fixtures right now, so I may have some REALLY good LED fixtures if you are thinking about changing over anytime soon...
Battery problem fixed..... Now... Who takes care of the bill... I figure it took.. ohhhh say 50 in gas at tomorrow’s standards, lots of running around. not a common batt.) The battery was 6 dollars but with today’s interest rates, that’s like 60 bucks. Labor, well it took me 3 hours to find a screwdriver to fit the meter and another 2 to figure out how to take it out and put it back in ( its wedged in there good) @ 15 dollars an hours.... that’s 75 bucks.  Total in all: $185 and we will call it even.... Times are rough and the economy sucks.....  Sincerely   Reefmann
Dang..... I guess I will just have to settle with knowing I did something special for the club and put it down on my list for aquariest of the year application....
