I have a couple of frags that will be ready to trade shortly. I am looking to trade for Zoas & Paly's or montipora. I would like to see pics of your zoas. Well all of it I guess. I have a few things I may be able to let go of. You stated your interested in Montiporas? Purple haze Los Angelas Lakers Do you have any PPE's zoas? I would have to see what you got though.
I will see if I can't get those pics up tonight. Sorry, I do not have any purple people eaters, but the Nebula Palys are larger polyps. I might be interested in your Purple Haze Monti frag. What type of lighting do you have? I have VHO T5 lighting (4 bulbs) with Icecap Ballast on my 80 ga. reef.
I use 2 400 watt metal halides and 2 250 watt metal halides along with 4 72" actinic VHOs over my display tank. On my frag tank I have two 175 watt metal halides and 2 48" VHO actinic bulbs. All ballast are Ice Cap or Blue Line from Champion Lighting. I have PPEs not sure if your interested in them though. These usually go anywhere from 40-50 dollars a polyp. Its crazy what people are getting for frags of certain types of corals!! I also have some frags of Superman, Rainbow, and Sunset montiporas. The Superman and the Sunsets are currently hard to tell apart in my frag tank. Most have been fragged close to a month or more and are starting to encrust on the frag plugs.
Yes, alot of Frag prices are rediculous for what you get, even when it is something that growths fast. I'm looking to do a lot of frag trading as my corals grow since this saves not only myself, but other reefers the high cost of some of these corals. Zoa & Paly color morphs can be rediculously overpriced. ie. Rainbow Paly's - $99 for 2 polyps! Yes, I might be interested in some of your PPEs as well. I have some nice looking Cherry Bomb Zoas if you are interested. I am still learning about photographing aquariums, so my pics aren't the best, but if you'll have a look in my initial post, I have updated it with pics of my frags. All of these are in my 10 ga. frag tank. The monti has started to encrust onto the frag plug.
Just let me know what you may want. I would like all of the zoanthids pictured if I have something you can use.
We can definitely work something out. Will that Purple Haze frag keep it's color pretty well under T5 VHO's if it is kept near the top of the tank? Also, you said you had some PPEs? Can you post a pic of those? I might be interested in that LA Laker Monti frag as well. If you could post up some pics of any additional frags you would be interested in trading, that would be great. If it will hold it's color, I definitately want that Purple Haze monti frag. Thanks. BTW, are you going to Reef Fest at NSA tomorrow? -Jeremy
Yes we will be at Reef Fest tomorrow. I will bring you a Monti frag and PPE's if you like. I have alot of stuff, not many PPEs though. I will see if I can find a photo of them and post.
I am sorry I did not answer your question about T-5's. I do not have any experience with them, so I would say it depends on how deep your tank is and where you place them (high or low) in the tank.
Pompom xenia? I wouldn't mind the xenia to start over. I don't have any corals to swap, but I do have peppermint shrimp and live rock. Marjorie
lbassfish- Were you interested in the the two Zoas and the Nebula Palys? or just the Zoas? I would like to swap 3 frags for 3 frags with you if you are interested. I would like the Purple Haze Monti frag, a Rainbow Monti Frag, & PPEs frag. If you are not interested in the Palys, I would like the Purple Haze Monti & a PPEs frag. Will you be at the lectures in the morning, or just the workshop tomorrow? I will be out there most of the day. I only live 5 mins from NSA, so I will check this post in the morning to see what frags I need to bring with me. Just let me know. Also, I currently have some Limelight Zoas, Dragon Eye Zoas, & Eagle Eye Zoas growing, but they are not ready for fragging yet. Might have to do some trading in the future!
Nice doing business with you at Reef fest this past weekend. The montis and PPEs are both doing great in my frag tank. Did you make it back to NW AR ok with all your frags?
