A number of members suggested on Saturday that I buy Coral Frenzy. Where can I get this product locally? Thanks for the reply.

    Northside has it.

  3. Austin - note - a very very little bit... goes a long way. Only case of cyano/red slime I every got was when I started using it & I was adding a very small pinch twice a week to my RSM 130D.

and my tank 99.5% algae free...

Thanks. I picked some up the other day at Northside along with a yellow clown goby. :)

Glenn, I'll just use a small amount once a week. I appreciate the advice because I would have been overdoing it.

Kevin at paradice pets does not carry it at the moment. I feed a quarter teaspoon of it every night.

  8. Sam I think I have found the cause of your high nitrates ^ [IMG]

Its not the coral frenzy that has my nitrates up its 22 fish that I have in the tank.

That sounds familiar !!! We do love to stock them well. I think you are doing a great job with your tanks and giving some very helpful info to some of our newer members. Thanks for being so involved with the club.

  11. Sam - I was j/k (just kidding)

You manage your tanks great & do have very beautiful ones ! Your advise is always sound & +1 to the good advise you give helping all the club members !

as Randy Holmes-Farley says... in the other post - "Reduce the inputs of nitrogen to the aquaria = stop overfeeding"

again I was just kidding you... but for many members tanks ... overfeeding is the source.

Cheers & All the Best ! [IMG]

Glenn I know you where joking and I took no offense to your comment. I just think that coral frenzy is very good stuff and I don't want anyone to not use it because a few people says it causes high nitrates.Your right overfeeding is the number one cause of a nitrate problem. And with 22+ fish in a system they like to eat alot and then they poo alot. My filters catch most of the waste from fish but the food is all gone about four minutes after I feed. I wouldn't recommend feeding that much coral frenzy in a smaller tank, remember Its 240 gallons. More like that much once a week for a tank that has a well stocked coral population. But my fish are as fat as they can be and very happy and the coral have shown no sign of the high nitrates (yet) that is the reason for the reactor is to stop the nitrates before it gets out of hand.

I'm not going to tell you how much I feed my tank cause you would probably pass out LOL. But all of it gets eaten. I just can't stand to see fish that have super thin guts because they're not getting enough food.

Again no offense was taken and no offense was intended by this post. And thank ya'll for the complements that you have given and I think you and fisher12 also have great tanks.
