    COTM came today and I am very pleased. They made up for the minor problems from last month and I was given some sweet frags. The Coral Dudes are still working out some minor bugs but they're minor. I can discuss it in detail tomorrow if anyone is curious. For those that will not be at tomorrows meeting, the customer service has been spot on, the items were packaged really well. A lot better than the first month. Regardless, you should at least give it a try. With every box I feel like a little kid during Christmas. Am I getting socks or a toy? So far it has been toys. I will be staying with them.

    So I've been a bit quiet about the Coral of the Month. My luck has been the complete opposite of John's. That being said The Coral Guys sent me a scoly today to make up for the lost coral. I've never cared for a Scoly, does anyone have advice?

    Currently it looks bleached a bit, a pale blue white color. I'm told it will be purple with green strips! Sounds like a real winner if I can keep it alive. Looking for advice!!!

    Welp, the Scoly is looking a poor. It came in plump but the skeleton around the outer rim was showing in a few places and there was a small wound in the center. Now the scoly is looking deflated and the wound in the center is larger, like the tissue is pulling away from the skeleton. Any advice welcomed!

    Bummer! I don't have any experience with Scoly's but that doesn't sound good.

    I'm going to give it another shot. I'm going to do Zoas this time. I still have 2 of their frags. One is still frag size, the other is a colony now. Both have colored up nicely. I was thinking about this a few days ago. The Coral Dudes are still doing this. It's time to try again.

    I figured it has to be going well since they are still doing it. Plus zoas are more forgiving than Acro's. I also like the Christmas or Brad Pitt feel of not knowing what is in the box.

    I haven't seen reef2reef postings in quite a while. It seems people would post their goodies, perhaps not. Maybe they're posted on Facebook?

    A bunch of drama happened on Facebook last night. I think The Coral Dudes are no longer going to be an online retailer. It will be really hard to recover from this. Hopefully none of you have placed an order recently.

    People started to call them out on reef2reef.

    Honestly, I had a large purchase from them in 2016 that didn't go well either, they sent me stuff I didn't inquire for. Never received the promised replacements and the excuse then seems to be similar to the ones people are posting on reef2reef now. I had a feeling things were shady when the excuse was that his staff messed it up. It seems near impossible such a thing can happen when I first called to confirm with them and then emailed them exactly what I wanted. I cut ties with them then.

    It's unfortunate for the coral dudes but if they ran their business better, it wouldn't be in this situation.

    I luckily saved Frost Noc Nguyen's number, of AZNnutty Saltwater Connections, and called him up. Dropped 4 digits following this incident and he air shipped it to me that same night. I got exactly what I wanted.

    I stick to the top vendors now. They are pricey but I get what I pay for.

    Learned my lesson from The Coral Dudes when they first came on the scene. It's documented on here when it happened.
