well I bought a used tank last week and when we transported it, it apparently cracked the back glass.
Well the crack is only behind the overflow and the tank is fully stocked so we had no choice but to use the tank, just not the overflow.
right now it has a HOB filter on it.
So my question is, is there anyway to replace just the back glass? is silicone the only thing holding tank together or is there something else that bonds the glass?

the silicone is teh only thing holding it but its hard to remove all the old silicone and the new will not bond to the old. everything i have read says if your going to fix one panel then do all of them. but often its easier just to buy a new tank

I have taken a tank apart before and it not easy to do and sometimes you end up with more broken glass than you wanted but if you can save one side and one end you can have the glass cut down to make a frag tank.

Well if your interested in the tank, it has a stand and canopy as well, im proboly going to try to sell it since I have no use for it.
But right now I have fish and livestock in it so those have to find a home first.
also am looking for a reef ready tank so would be willing to trade this tank + cash for it.

  8. Sorry to hear... [IMG] about the tank ! Hope you find another great deal soon!
