I would like to invite everyone to think about this weekend trip. The Dallas Coral Farmers Market will be Sat Nov1st. This will be a chance to get those rare and limited edition corals from Stephen Tyree. He sponsors these coral markets around the country and this will be close enough for a short weekend trip. Myself, Chris, and Blake will be leaving Fri and stay in Dallas overnight to attend the event on Sat and return Sat evening. Please look at the link above and give it some thought. Hope to see you there.

I visit Dallas frequently and went two months ago to the Fish Gallery. 6955 Greenville Ave. Dallas, TX. 214-750-7002. They seemed to be closing out their saltwater tanks to focus on freshwater. They had complete, stocked saltwater aquariums on sale for a few hundred bucks. Might be worth stopping in to see what remains.

  6. Norman, Blake and I managed to leave Little Rock around 10:30 and the 4+ hour trip to Dallas seemed to fly by. We met up with one of PFO lighting reps Joy Meadow and took her out to dinner with the MASNA BOD at Bass Pro Shops restaurant Big Bucks Grill Brewery and Steak House. I always want to have something different when out of town so I got the Buffalo ribeye which was great. If you ever get the chance to go to one of these restaurants it is a treat. Norman was banging on Blake and my door at 8:30 for our wake up call and we went to the venue to set up the MASNA booth. Razorback Reef was well represented with Blake and Norman wearing there shirts, I on the other hand have gained a tad bit of weight in the last 6 months so I was without mine. The frags were great, there was lots of chalice that seemed to be the big thing at this event. This was not the place though to get a good deal - prices started as 25 but a typical frag was around 50 - 75 dollars. The most expensive was the tiny Bubble Gum frag the size of a pin that was $280.[IMG] Alot of the frags seemed to be fresh cuts and I have looked for frags that had plenty of growth on the plugs to purchase. I picked up mostly acros (4) and one interesting monti that was brown with purple polyps. We were going to stay another night but we were rested and left out about 3:30 to get our corals home, stopping in Texarkana at Bryce's Cafateria (Great Place) to eat before getting in around 8:30. We had a great time and look forward to our next road trip. It is really fun to go to these events and speak to some high end reefers and come home energized to work on your own tanks.
