Ebay Frag Packs

I know the swap is just around the corner but I've been wondering if anyone has ever purchased any of these Ebay frag packs. I'm quite interested in the zoa frag packs but at the same time I'm not so sure about it. If I don't spend my budget at the frag swap, I may pickup one of these packages. I'd like the wysiwyg sps packages but I don't think I have enough room for 12+ sps coral frags. lol.

Worst case scenario, If I don't get anything from the swap or ebay, I'll just get myself a 135g long tank and store it but I'm pretty sure I'll spend something at the swap.

 

I buy frag packs off eBay; a lot of these sellers are actually business owners, examples Mr. Coral and Reef Gardener. My tip is know who your buying from I have seen the ebay packs go for more than what you could buy them on their sites. Also make sure you look at shipping, some of these guys want $50 to ship even a single frag and last understand exacctly what you are buying many of the sellers show the colony and your actually getting a quarter in frag, which seems to be the norm or at least it was at NextWave. If your looking for zoas go to Saltcritters like him on face book, He is always having $5 frag sales and gives coupons for free shipping. Yesterday he had some amazing colonies for $50. Then lastly see what your LFS can get the product for, remember they may be a little higher but when you factor in shipping they are often the best source if your wanting a few. I know The Fish Tank often has huge colonies for less than $100; you say $100 bucks, but think about it you may be willing to pay 10-100 for a few polyps on ebay then add shipping when you can get a whole colony for the same price. Last and most important, understand what you see may not be what you get.......I know first hand that with LEDs you can make anything look any color you want. I spent $80 on this beautiful orange torch at NextWave and in my tank it's ugly and drab. The one I got at our meeting puts it to shame and it was free.

 

Www.myreeftoyours.com has great zoas at reasonable shipping if not free. I've ordered a lot of things from him.

I also like the sizes of some of the zoa colonies at the fish tank. They also have some frags too. I'm just waiting for the right color at the current time

Jason, no worries; I have 4 Vega's waiting to be installed on my SPS tank and 4 off brand for my fish only tank, and as soon as I can I plan on a Nano AI for my nano, then I will be 100% LED.

 

Glad you finally made the decision and got your vegas. Why 4, I thought you were going with 3. More than one tank I'm guessing? Anyway keep me posted on the install and the acclimation of your corals.
