Hi everyone! Im trying to enter the marine hobby I have a 30 gallon freshwater tank I want to convert into a reef tank. I need help getting a hold of an 30'' metal halide fixture. I finally have some money to persue this hobby, that ive been wanting to for years. Im wanting to keep acropora in my tank and I understand that I need to us metal halides for them to grow and reproduce. If not possible, is anyone willing to sell a 30g setup for great price?
Welcome to RRMAS, the best advice I can give is come to our meetings the next one is at my house on the 17th, talk to the members and go from there. Don't rush to do anything,
Welcome!! In my humble opinion, I would be more concerned with filtration than lights. From what I can tell, water quality plays a bigger part in color and growth than light really. If you can post some more information about your tank, like filtration, pumps, rock, sand, etc we can help you lots more. Unfortunately, I couldn't help you with the fixture right now.
Welcome let us know if we can help you in any way. There is a lot of people that has had or done it if it pertains to aquariums.
I haven't started on it yet I have a top fin 29 gallon tank. i've got it all figured out the argonite and live rock via Northside aquatics, or it would be better if you sell live rock. Since you are located and Conway and I live in Conway. I found a nice filter that is an Aquarium Pharmaceuticals RENA SmartFilter 30, which has the power of an cannister filter. Then eventually im going to add a hang on protein skimmer. Also do you think I could take a look at you coral business setup sometime?
I have a lot of rock for sale actually Around 500 lbs right now. I sell it for $3 a lb. You can stop by anytime, just give me a call to make sure someone is there. I work a full time job as well, so I don't have regular business hours. Sounds like you have a good start, when you come by we can talk more about your system. There are also some others in Conway that can be a wealth of knowledge.
