All my frags from Reef Fest are looking great. I got a duncan, blue chalice, and the monti. I have trying to figure out what these frags will look like when they mature. So I have been trying to id them on the internet. Does anybody know the scientific name of the monit and the blue chalice? My blue chalice frag looks really cool. He has already developed four mouths. The monti is a rusty orange color and has purple flower polyps on its outer edges.
All my frags are doing well also... I believe the Blue Chalice is Echinophyllia... but I might be wrong on this...
My Duncan looks great, even growing a new head, as does the blue chalice. However, my blue zoo's started to melt, only two heads are opening, some are gone. I also bought a piece of the green (can't remember the name!!! BRAIN FART!) and it looked great for a few days, but it got knocked over several times and now it's loosing it's green and the polps dont extend anymore. I think it may be on it's way out. I've got it placed at the top of my tank under T5's. Kim
Kim, make sure you have enough flow for the green acro it likes alot of water movement. You have it at the top of the tank and under t-5s should be fine all the frags from reef fest had been under t-5s for about a month after being fragged.Hope your frag gets better.
Hiya, I'll give it some more flow and see how it likes it. I really need to get it glued down somewhere so it stops getting knocked around. Kim
I'm glad to hear everyone is having good luck with the Reef Fest frags. I thing we got it figured out. There were some nice frags there and everyone should be able to share them in a few months. Anyone want to work on a frag swat/trade program for club members? There are several clubs doing well with it and we can patern a good workable system from them. We can discuss it at the next meeting.
Fisher12, I think that would be something good to talk about at the next meeting. I liked the idea that Paul Witby was talking about for a club frag trade program.
I am not going to be able to make the next meeting. But I also thought the program that Paul Whitby discussed at Reef Fest was a great idea. I would love to participate in a program like that and hope that Razorback Reef at least considers this on a trial basis.
