The Tank looks really pristine. It’s always so clear. Looks

  5. My newest addition, lfs (The Fish Tank) just got this guy in, he in about 2 1/2 - 3 inches long, $36 was a good value for a Crocea Clam (Tridacna crocea) I thought, so I decided I would give him a go [IMG]  he should do nicely under my 6 T'5s

great addition! let me know how it does under your t-5 setup. We want one, just not sure if our tank can support it. How deep is your tank by the way?

Nanoreefing4fun, nice clam. @ skrillnet you can keep clams under MH, T5s or both.  I have been keeping clams for about three years now.  I have a total of eight maxiums rangeing in size from 1 to seven inches.  My tank is 30 inches deep.  Go to Fish Tank they have alot of different clams and sizes they are very nice.

  8. Blackfish & Calvin- thanks for the post !
    my tank is 26" deep - with  6 x 39W T5
    Linear

ok, I'm done hijacking your thread after this ;-)

    So a 4 - 54w T-5 fixture can support a clam at 24" deep?

Just wanna make sure, don't wanna kill one and don't wanna waste money on something that won't survive.

  11. Thanks Jason !

Calvin I would think 4 - 54w T-5 fixture can support a clam at 24" deep, you could always move him up in the rockscape - let's see what others think...

I'm telling you that you can keep clams because I know not because of something I read or someone told me.  If it is less than 4 inches put it up on the rocks 4 inches or more can go down in the sand.  I have 8 clams 1 to 7 inches.  Go to Fish Tank they have about 20 clams different sizes, type and colors.
