I have a crazy looking purple one that I bought... Mine doesnt have the branches but it has knots and crazy raise knobs that look as if they could grow arms... I asked a few people and never got an answer... Has the purplest polyps though

Acropora palmata is an endangered species. I'm just trying to get a positive scientific name.

Well seems I have found a match. Montipora stellata [url2='http://sdmas.com/corals/274.php':3dyaig9d]http://sdmas.com/corals/274.php[/url2:3dyaig9d]. I have found that this coral under different light either grows like a digitata or grows in plating branches and the most common colors are brown or green rarely in a purple color. Its branches will grow downward aswell. This coral also resembles montipora Hirsuta but just doesnt have the same growth pattern and Hirsuta has purple tips this coral doesnt. http://sdmas.com/corals/526.php
