Leds are getting better & better Sea Life Aquarium at LEGOLAND Lighting Retrofit from Metal Halide to Ecoxotic LED http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLH3TcHG ... r_embedded
Hiya, That is absolutely amazing!!! And the money they saved is outstanding. My only question is, do LED's grow corals just as well T5's or Metal hallies? Kim/Benton, AR
I was down there about a month ago for a design meeting and got to check out the aquarium, I am way jealous. I want one!!!
it would be cool..... very very cool.... The wifey and I were dreaming the other day and came up with a design similar to this only instead of a tunnel for the room, actually make a dome for the room, and a tunnel going to it.
I am just not convinced yet that LEDs are growing corals. I have seen some amazing lighting with LEDs by controlling the different colors which was awesome for a fish only but are thy growing corals? I have been having this disussion with several LED lovers of late. Just not convinced yet.
Here some new LED lights a member of the Red Sea Max Club just installed - an $1,100 upgrade http://www.aquaillumination.com/sol/ more pics here - if interested & specs http://www.reefsanctuary.com/forums/red ... re-26.html
Here a graphical drawing that helpes me envision these led lights spread... just though I would share
LEDs will grow anything MH or T5's grow. My tank is lit with LEDs. Anyone can come see for themselves. I have some hold pics of when the coral was smaller too.
Blake Christmas (sdfbeanhead) from Christmas Coral Farm will be doing an update on LED lighting at Frag Fest in Conway, April 16th. He learned a lot first hand from the manufacturers he visited with in Dallas recently and will be sharing all that he learned with us.
