Just wanted to get my virgin post out of the way and post some pictures of my tank. Enjoy!!! Great to meet everyone yesterday. The event was so cool. I plan to be a very active member.

Yep, its stock lighting. I just replaced the actinic light last week so the tank colors got quite a bit more vibrant.

My tank has only been running since September. It established really fast and I was able to get everything ballanced out rather quickly. I have an extremely happy system.

My only gripe is that darn pistol shrimp that is paired with the yellow watchman, he bull dozes everything. Its hard to keep him from messing with the smaller specimines on the bottom, but I keep on top of him. Good "reef parenting" has been paying off.

He drug my brand new blue stars under his rock yesterday, probably just for fun. I had to snatch it back and glue it down. Those things are too expensive to be messed with. I showed him whos boss.

It was glad talking to you yesterday at the meeting, and it's great to see pics of your tank. Your fish and corals look really happy.

    Cheers,

Dont let me talk you out of one. He does way more good than bad. If you are as picky about your tank as I am, you'll just need to make sure things on the sand bed are anchored down well enough. Mine doesn't seem to mess with anything up on the rocks so thats where I try to keep my smaller, more fragile pieces. Otherwise, he drags them under his rock. Who know what for though, he doesnt eat any of them.

If you like watching your shrimp, take a handful of small coral rubble and put it on the sandbed close to his entrance. He will work till it's all down in his tunnel. I believe they use it as supports to shore up the tunnel. Mine always took the flat pieces and made a kind of porch over the entrance. It always surprises me how much rubble they can move down under the substrate.

Mine does the same thing with rubble and small shells. Its almost like he's an engineer. He doesnt put the piece down untill he has just the right spot for it. He sure is the "work horse" of the tank. Its like watching an ant farm, he's just a whole lot faster.
