I need to make a decision about my return pump(s) and get an order on the way. My latest idea is to get two Eheim 1262 pumps. The tank has two 600GPH overflows. Eheims have a reputation for being very quiet which is important since the tank is in the living/TV room. The 1262s have 1" outputs and my tank return bulkheads are 3/4". What's the downside to reducing the pipe diameter like this? Any big deal?
I was wrong about the output size. One site lists 3/4" and another 5/8". Darn metric system. They are actually 25mm input and 16mm output. Will 1" and 3/4" fittings work?
