Motion - Officer Name Changes

Motion -

To dissolve the BOD position of webmaster and create a webmaster committee that will compose of not more than three members and not less than one.

To rename the BOD position of photographer to archivist.

 

In an effort to facilitate the progression of Razorback Reefs website I think that it is prudent to realize that the amount of work and effort required to develop an effective website is more than any one individual has time to volunteer to the club. We are fortunate enough to have several members who have knowledge of web development and have offered there time to contribute. In an effort to bring recognition to their work I am proposing that the title of Webmaster be expanded to “Web Master Committee†that will allow for contributors of the websites development to gain recognition and stature for their work. The webmaster position would no longer be a voting position on the board as has been in the past due to the expanded numbers of members filling the role. I am also proposing that the title of photographer be renamed “Archivist†to reflect the importance of maintaining the clubs history. The term archivist brings a more important role to the table rather than just taking pictures.

YA-HOO.........first BOD discussion on the forum, was wondering how long it would take. I agree with both suggestions and would probably at this time vote with the majority. I will wait till I hear (see) all the discussion before rendering a verdict.

 

I third it. There is just to much work that needs to be done for one person to do it all. This way we can keep thing's done on a reasonable schedule.

The only thing that comes to mind is if someone at an event is looking for the photographer, or wants to know who took the photos, they are not going to know who the archivester is.
I think it should be left alone. The web committee sounds good to me.

 

Norman I hate to keep you from straddling the fence but the motion is for both not one or the other. You will need to vote yes or no on the whole shabang or abstain form the vote.

 

I am amending my motion to contain only the first component of dissolving the webmaster position and creating a webmaster committee.

The motion reads:

To dissolve the BOD position of webmaster and create a webmaster committee that will compose of not more than three members and not less than one.

 

I think that is a good idea and would vote yes to that.
