I have never had a saltwater tank before and I was able to get a 55 gal fish only tank that was already established, but after visiting Northside I was informed that I need alot more live rock. If you have any for sale around the north little rock area please let me know?

    Thank you so much

    base rock

If you want to go cheap just start off with base rock. Remember that the MAIN reason you've got live rock is to convert the ammonia to nitrite then nitrates then N2. Any old suitable base rock will do and it's about $2-3 dollars a pound. Only reefers know you're rock shouldn't be shiny white.

Just get small pieces of live rock to seed the base rock.

You can get base rock at NSA or Petsmart.

Paradice pets in benton Has 50# boxes of base rock for 69.99 I think. I used 150# when I set up my tank 90 gallons and I only used two large pieces of live rock for seed. I think that method is a lot cheaper than buying all live rock. After a few months they wont be bright white any more. Good luck to your first SW tank.
