My two saddleback clowns are eating well and fussing with each other a little. I think I can already tell which one will be the female. I picked up an emaciated scooter blenny Saturday with hopes to fatten him up. I think the clowns have really reduced my pod population and I didn't realize it until Saturday evening. So far, the scooter won't eat the small Formula One pellets or frozen mysis. We're going to keep trying to entice him to eat prepared foods and start cycling some live rock in/out of the two refugiums to try to keep the pod population going. Regular phytoplankton additions will help the pod population too, right?
Joe, I have three mandarins(green, spotted, fingered), and at first I couldn't get the Fingered to eat... so I tried CYCOPEZE, or just frozen cyclops, I would recomend this, not quite as small, but should do the trick!
They also make a frozen REEF PLANKTON. Its an orange cube and it is really fine particle food. Our smaller fish and filter feeders love it.
Thanks for the food tips. This morning when I looked before the lights came on, I could see a bunch of pods goofing around. There are a lot more than I thought. I hope there's enough to fatten him up.
Congrats Joe and Kathy, aren't they cute. I just love to watch mine. Looks like they are doing fine in their new home.
