Norman ( or anyone else) do you still have any plans or details on the Phyto station you guys made in March of 2007? I would like to make one that holds four bottles. Thanks in advance.
I think Joe's brother still has one of the 4 bottle setups. I'm sure it's never been used and would be available. Contact Joe and see if he can help you with it or let me know and I'll send the plans.
2 bottle phyto station Jaysuncle does it have a light like the others? Are you going to use it? Maybe we can work something out.
Plans Norman can you send me the plans to this? I have alot of PVC fittings and pipe. I should not have to purchase too much for it.
I would be interested too. It would be nice not to have to pay $40+ a bottle for dt. go through alot for my gorgonians.
I'll look them up and get them to you both. Pretty easy to do, but I made a few improvements that made it work better for me. I will show you mine anytime you want.
Hey Norman - This would be a great opportunity to post an article in the DIY forum - After the discussion Terri & I had with you this past Sunday I too would like to build a phyto station. I found several articles on the web describing them, but since you've made "improvements", I would love to see your plans. -- Ken
http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2002-07/ds/index.php Here is the link with the plans and directions. I made a few changes in lightingand pipe lengths to fit a 36" shelf. I had to clean my computer because of viruses and lost some of my files, but you can easily make this to fit your needs. This can be made a 2 station unit up to as many bottles as you want to use. I would suggest not using glue on any of it in case you want to expand or decrease the size or break it down for storage. When the bottles are in place it is pretty sturdy and easily changed. Good luck and call if you have any questions. I think I was able to make the 8 bottle station for around $48.00.
If you look at the DIY forum from Aug 2007 you can read the posts about the workshop we did at my house and see some of the units (Chris's) that are set up and working. Have fun with it. There are also some photos in the archives forum.
